You can choose which software you want to install.  Google promises simple installation ("install everything in just a few click").  The software is free.  Importantly, Google Pack includes anti-virus software (Norton Antivirus 2005) and spyware-prevention software (Ad-Aware).  You may also be interested in the Google Screensaver (shows your own pictures), Google Earth (3D earth mapping application), Picasa (photo organizer), Google Desktop, Google Toolbar, Firefox browser, and Adobe Reader 7.

And in other news, a rumored GooglePC has not yet materialized.
