I wonder if there is a way to privately share a Twitter list between two users (or accounts). Meaning one user is the owner but the other can see any new members added by the owner, yet the List itself would remain hidden from the Public.
There would be two ways to try this. One would be to have a Private list that is made Public for a short time, allowing the other person to subscribe. The owner could then turn the list back to Private. If this works, cool. If not, it would mean that turning the list back to Private cuts off the other.
EDIT: Well, that didn't work. Turning a list back to Private cuts off anyone who joins.
One intermediate solution would be for a person to have a secondary Private account that creates its own "Public" lists. This way, Public really means whoever the Private person allows to connect with on Twitter. So the Private account having a Public list would allow for a List to be shared between two users (or accounts), although there is the extra hassle of swapping over to the Private account for manage the list.
Then, one solution to that would be a 3-account solution:
- Power User: Normal account, creates a Private list, wants to keep the list private
- Private Secondary User: Every so often, gets the Power User to turn the list to Public. Then, this person creates a Public List with all the same people from the Power User's List. The Power User then turns the list back to Private, cutting off all. However, since the Private Secondary User now has the people on the List at this point in time, that is fine. And no one else can see the Private Secondary User's Lists, unless he/she wants them to.
- Third User: Can request to be connected to Private Secondary User. This person can then see the Private Secondary User's List. If and whenever the Secondary User adds a person, this Third User will see.
I think you have noted some very interesting points , thankyou for the post.
