In honor of a field I once interned in (16 years ago), here is Be An Actuary. Actuaries are insurance statisticians. Success in the actuarial field depends on passing the actuarial exams, which range in topics from Calculus to Statistics and an array of insurance topics.
I passed exams in Calculus and Probability & Linear Algebra. Fun stuff! There was nothing more exciting than waiting 6 weeks to get my test results in the mail. I'm sure they've probably ported over to computer-based testing, just like the GMAT and other professional exams.
Here's another interesting actuarial site: Actuarial Outpost.
Actuaries crunch numbers and spend lots of time preparing exhibits for governmental insurance regulatory departments.
