Brilliant comment from The Motley Fool in "Facebook, Google Square Off":
It's impossible at this early stage to name a surefire winner, but the non-proprietary nature of OpenSocial makes it my bet. Also, Google knows a lot more about making money from online traffic than Facebook does, and it's happy to share some of that expertise with its content-providing partners.
The real question is can Facebook survive? I still think of them as a website for college people (although they are more than that) and really don't think they'll ever be much more than they are today. And I think they are only worth one or two billion, not fifteen.
