Congrats goes out to Walter Menjivar, a Mount Dora High School student who was recently awarded the DisneyHand Shining Star Award from among a larger pool of 100 students who were chosen as Disney Dreamers and Doers. Walter Menjivar is in the top 20% of his class, president of the German Club, plays soccer, teachers English as a second language, and is a Reading Buddy at Roundlake Elementary School. He receives a free stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and annual passes for himself and his immediate family.
In total, five Lake County students were among the 100 Disney Dreamers and Doers, including Frank Porter from Eustis Elementary, Asami Wright from Four Corners Charter School, Kody Kruppenbacher from Fruitland Park Elementary, and Megan Glisson from South Lake High School.
